Two similar logias at Palacio de las Dueñas

‘Rather like scenes from a tapestry I have been stitching over the years’ – James Ravilious
Nicely paired architectural images. I’m struck by the slight tilt of the love seat on the top image and how it sits slightly to the right of center. In the bottom image, it’s the way the courtyard light softly bathes across those potted plants.
Thank you John. That bench drove me nuts for ages. I couldn’t work out whether it was really canted or if there was some kind of perspective effect from not squaring up the camera accurately. I think it’s actually that the brick floor slopes slightly, presumably to stop rainwater pooling in the logia, but whatever the explanation, it’s interesting that you picked it up too – a slightly unsettling element in the composition.
Needless to say, I prefer it with a “crooked beat” 😊
Hehe. Me too, now that I’ve convinced myself it’s not simply an artefact of poor technique on my part!
